Maybe, but those scars will stay there forever.

True.

I laughed, and yes.

Nice. Pic related to aforementioned bloodstains.
Let it go, let it go, let it go.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who can imagine constellations/stars in blood splatters... and are you telling me or yourself to let it go? Because baby, I'm tryin'.

Myself, it's a sort of mantra against the memory of battles lost. I hate losing.
My grudges are bitter indeed.

What have you really lost?
Anger can be great... cathartic anyway and I think I'm as misanthropic as the next person but it's just too much work to maintain grudges. Although occasionally reading the obituaries can feel like tiny victories.
Have you ever tried meditation/mantras?

> What have you really lost?
A part of my mind it sometimes seems. Which angers me further.
> Have you ever tried meditation/mantras?
No. I suspect I would be a good candidate though.

I think the mistake was assuming you ever possessed it in the first place.
Seriously though, give it a shot sometime. It's rather simple despite the jargon. Alan Watts offers an excellent introduction. Not all the benefits are immediately tangible but try it for 15 minutes a day for a week and you might be surprised. Try different mantras if you want. Something like "Sabbe satta sukhi hontu" perhaps. I prefer something ridiculous sounding anyway, it seems more authentic that way. Really though it's more important to focus on your breathing.
