Here is the reason why. A lot of people own guns but it is a regional thing. The shootings occurred in DC. DC is not gun friendly, so the only people with guns are the criminals and mass shooters. If you need further proof you can call the parents of Trayvon Martin and argue with them that Americans do not carry guns and shoot people.

OP, the mass shootings in the US have LE responding within minutes. The perpetrator either kills himself, or the LE does it for him. Not much time for average citizen to respond to this type of incident.
The incident in England happened in the middle of a busy public street yards away from a military base. The perps were only armed with knives and not even trying to hide and still no man stepped in to try to help. It also took police over 20 minutes to arrive. I can assure you something like that would not happen in the US.

Well its not like wot I bet on USA elections where I must say I MADE A KILLING!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But its not huge and its broken up in multiple ways.
Also I was in deep need for a cash infusion during the elections. Harvard Med School and my driving need to play Monopoly for real re dirt cheep brand new houses/condos and cash on loan for almost free was to good to not go for but it sure kept me in tight budget for a few too many years. NOW NOW NOW so much better off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
