The simplest explanation is that she hasn't done anything to merit provoking my retaliation. One wonders though whether this was just some kind of vain vanity experiment of hers to live vicariously through children as entertainment with no real empathetic consideration or compassion behind what she might've seen as a burdensome chore of some sort. I did get that feeling at times during my adolescence.
