Just downloaded Democracy 2 again.
Thinking about getting the first Democracy, Superpower 2 (once had it but lost my cracked download and it seems cheap enough now for me to buy), Geo-Political Simulator 2 (again I lost my first copy), maybe some of the Europa series, but I've never played it before and I'd like some recommendations as to whether I should bother.
Thinking about getting Sim City 4 again too, spurred by quack's post on it over a week ago, but if the community around it is more or less dead (more pertinently the creation of mods for it, I don't give a shit about the people of course), there might be no point.
Have considered dabbling in the Civilization series again but it all just seems too vanilla with not nearly enough macromanagement and too much emphasis on war strategics without the finer political tactics, which series like the Geo-Political sims, Superpower, and Supreme Commander (though I've never played it, videos for it seem good) greatly improved upon.
Anything else? What do you guys play of this genre?

I have a Greek friend I speak to occasionally and he recommends the Europa and Victoria games.
I've tried Europa Universalis III: Complete and never managed to get passed the learning curb.
Been thinking of giving it another try though. Afraid I might not be smart enough for these kinds of games.

It's funny because these are the only games I can play. I seem to struggle with RPGs (I only tried a few and gave up, can't remember which ones they might be now), and even some simpler things that are more dependent on co-ordination and reflexes like platformers and first-person shooters.
