and this time it added a meter called Badass rank
doing all sort of challenges (killing hundreds of specific kind of enemy, do hundred kills with specific weapon/element/critical hit/shield effect etc) will earn you a small perma buff across all your characters, and it can be earned infinitely

welp this time they buffed up the difficulty a lot, ive got my ass kicked numerous time while I rarely die in borderlands 1 so it is either grind with easy kills or get killed easily
