How can I make myself look more female/attempt to present female before starting HRT?

I think clothes, hair and maybe make-up may be the three most important, but what else?

But also I don't have a clue how to make any progress with any of them at all. It's really really hard for me to do anything because of depression and a life-time of living male means..

I've absolutely no idea about clothing or any of these things: What are some good sources I could use to learn what'll work on me? How can I actually figure out exactly what to buy and what to do with it?

With hair I've been growing it for a while but there's absolutely no way I could go humiliate myself at a hairdressers asking them to give me a female haircut.

Sorry to complain, it's just so so difficult.. I really need practical advice that I can use to make small steps forward. Thanks very much in advance.
