What do you do other than post on the internet and meth? Don't get defensive or offensive either, I am asking you because I am genuinely curious.

He is a grease monkey. Can put air in your tires.

Better then being a porch monkey. But seriously, I'd like to know if there is another side beyond what we see him post here.

Never claimed such a thing, stop lying.
Neither is
@OP intereste in my story, it's just interested in strawmanning and twisting it to death like the rest of these ingratuitous negroidal fucks.

I haven't piled on or joined the others ITT. I created this thread to ask you an honest question. All shenanigans, bullshitting, and trolling aside, I am not asking you because I want to argue with you. If it was an argument I wanted then I would not have approached you that way. I am treating you like a human and asking you like I would ask anyone else. If it is something you don't want to talk about then I will politely fuck off and not bother with the subject.

I work, at reduced hours at the moment, and I intend to start studying in October again, picking up where I left off with my education; I've about 1 month of University under my belt when I dropped out the last time nearly 3 decades ago. I imagine the field of Engineering has changed significantly since, but reading through an introductory textbook I bought on e-bay, seems many aspects of the course has actually been
dumbed down. Fitting because in my old age some of my cognitive abilities have dulled, mixture of meth use and aging to blame.

Is there a particular field of engineering that interests you more than others? Engineering is something that always impresses me. I struck up a conversation with a test engineer for Caterpillar at a bar once. He told me that most of what he did is guess work. He said: "We come up with an idea, build it, have a bunch of Mexicans try it out, and then if it works we use it, if not we try again until we get it right or need more Mexicans."

Definitely mechanics, as this is where I have the most practical experience.
Yes, Engineering is a very spontaneous subject, it's a myth that it mostly involves uninspired rote-work, but one does need a solid foundation in the fundamentals to get any old thing done before moving onto the more creative stuff, as with any STEM subject really, but an ability to solve unique problems is especially important to this more than other fields, I'd say.

I am no engineer but I have worked closely with them before and this is very true.
