So far I still haven't been able to find a job that isn't dead-end retail shit. This god damn economy..

> mfw I'm $40,000 in debt for a graduate degree in medieval religious literature (i.e. hagiography, exegesis)

So, uh, what are you guys majoring in?

+Anonymous B13.1 years ago, 9 minutes later[T] [B] #303,657

Medieval atheist literature

+Anonymous C13.1 years ago, 22 seconds later, 9 minutes after the original post[T] [B] #303,658

@OP
When you were getting a graduate degree in medieval religious literature what type of employment did you have in mind? I ask that not to be a smart ass but I'm just curious what you were planning on doing for work after graduation?

+Syntax 13.1 years ago, 24 minutes later, 33 minutes after the original post[T] [B] #303,664

OK Yes I had to look up meaning of Hagiography ...refers to the biographies of saints and ecclesiastical leaders.

Exegesis I no re Lead out. But I also looked it up to see wot else it means.

Critical explanation or interpretation of a text, especially a religious text.

So I will await your reply to Anon C re wot were you thinking at the get go.

I can't explain it, she had a ring with a charm on it through her pinky nail

Imagine the nail grew out long, and there was a hole in it with a ring or a charm through it.

I think thats what he means.

At what point did you consider it a good idea? How soon before it was ripped out accidentally?

·Anonymous I13.1 years ago, 48 minutes later, 1 day after the original post[T] [B] #303,889

It was a long fingernail, I had a tiny ring in it. Lasted about a week then the nail broke. It wasn't "ripped" out.

Did you ever answer anon c's question? And to work in a museum (other than a docent) you at least need your master's and will most likely have to supplement your income by teaching.

Also, your type of degree requires a masters or above to get anywhere. You should have planned better.

The Getty Museum is hiring security guards.

Well hell man its like we asked you questions and you took 4ever to get back to us. Nor did you answer the questions.

Anyway good luck with the job search but if a museum job does not appear, consider looking in2 mausoleum work.

> goo job
You do not need a degree for a goo job.
I don't want to be negative but the degree you have sounds like one of those types that one gets and then becomes a professor. There may be other jobs. If you are an American you could always try a government job (in the future, the sequester is doing no good for civilian jobs). It is good that you majored in something you feel strong about, I am assuming this to be true. You could always ask professors and classmates (if you have kept in touch with them) about possible job opportunities.
