This radio broadcast had actual passwords used by the Klan. The whole purpose behind casting them as villains was to demoralize them and it worked.

And none of those people in those "empty" buildings as he levels Metropolis.

Wanton destruction of an entire city when he has it in his power to take it out of harm's way? What a shitty excuse.

When one of them said that their confrontation will only end with one of their deaths. I automatically thought how they could actually kill each other besides having Supes fly Zod out away from the sun which would hurt him too so it would have been risky.

It's lazy writing. Goyer and Snyder are fucking things up so badly. Can't wait to see how they fuck up Batman.

Oh yeah, "Superman & Batman" also serves as a Batman reboot too, right?

It serves as testament to the fact that MOS failed so badly that it couldn't warrant its own sequel so they had to shoehorn Batman into it in order to cover their asses.

I guess this means no Darkseid, Brainiac, or Doomsday then.

@previous (A)
With this news there's not an elimination of any of those. The problem is that WB could potentially repeat itself with the sequel as using Lex Luthor (Superman's arch-nemesis) in the second film resembles The Dark Knight (Joker). Using Doomsday in order to kill Superman would only be feasible in the second movie, not the third of the trilogy because it creates no actual conflict if he 'dies' then comes back to life within the span of one film. LexCorp was already cameo'd in Man of Steel so the line of thinking is that Luthor would be used in the more corrupt businessman sense while using a different villain as the physical antagonist. It would be interesting if they addressed Luthor as either the POTUS or a candidate. Darkseid would be way too strange, but Brainiac could work.

That being said, it really doesn't matter if it they aren't trying to treat it as a trilogy (which I believe they are since it's a cash grab for WB), then it's certainly a vehicle for Justice League and that opens more doors for other stand-alone films. Since they already screwed up Green Lantern, I strongly doubt they will invest to reboot it before JLA. At any cost, that leaves them with three other options: Aquaman (zzz), Wonder Woman (possibly the easiest thing to screw up) and The Flash. The problem with many of these is that mainstream audiences know almost nothing about their backstories or who their arches are. Then there is Martian Manhunter, a character who people don't even know exists. I'd like to see something about him, but who knows. Guardians of the Galaxy is happening so stranger things have happened.

As far as this crossover goes, anything can happen. You can expect that there won't be a lot of origin plot reserved for Batman because the audience should generally be aware of him by now, but regardless (since it's very strong probability Bale won't be returning) people will be asking questions and demanding answers. It's an interesting move to not simply copy Marvel's Cinematic Universe but the problem is that they keep idiots like David Goyer and Zack Snyder around, then front-load the bullshit by using Christopher Nolan's name everywhere when he has almost nothing to do with it.

Anybody remember the Silver Surfer movie? Yeah not so much.

·Anonymous D13.1 years ago, 9 minutes later, 6 hours after the original post[T] [B] #298,795

@previous (FuckAlms !vX8K53rFBI)
The problem with Silver Surfer is that he does not have a discernable face and in all previous attempts it was difficult to use a man completely covered in silver look believable. The fact that he appeared in a sequel to a franchise that was inevitably going to be rebooted due to Marvel's new universe approach, the fact that they used the Human Torch as Captain America and the unsuccessful revivals of Hulk are what helped it not going anywhere. It was a decent experiment in trying to bring Norrin Radd to life but his story is even stranger and unrelatable to people and that trying to create him in his own movie would be too risky then. The way they handled Galactus was another problem, which is also similarly to how they treated Sentinels in X-Men.

The Wolverine did not meet opening weekend expectations but Days of Future Past is supposed to bring that franchise together since it the only wortwhile Marvel franchise that is outside of the MCU. The important thing to remember about the "Silver Surfer movie" is that it wasn't a Silver Surfer movie. It was a Fantastic 4 movie, plain and simple. He hasn't had his own movie.

Also to compare, what other stand-alone DC films have been made that did well? Green Lantern? No. Jonah Hex? No. Catwoman? Nooo...

I would love a Martian Manhunter movie because he's one of the most under-rated/unknown and therefore there is almost no expectation for him. It goes both ways of course but I think J'onn would do well because he's such an interesting character. Everyone I know that is aware of Martian Manhunter seems to love him.

If The Avengers hinted at Thanos. Wouldn't DC want their own equivalent with Darkseid?
