Do you have idea how many AK47s and variants of have been produced in almost 70 years?
The US gave many insurgents their first one.
We know that the M16 suffered more malfunctions in it's early days (specifically speaking on the Vietnam war) but it has progressed a lot over the years and FTF and other malfunctions aren't as prevalent today even with shit tier manufacturers.
The AK-47 has become both an iconic symbol of liberation (hence its presence on money, flags, etc) and terrorism.
