Gravity is the result of what is known as "Hell's Vacuum" (AKA "Hell's Vortex") which is an ethereal vortex that interacts with the material realm (malkuth) to a minor degree but applies a greater amount of force on the spiritual realm which overlaps the mundane world. Located in the center of the earth it perpetually vacuums the souls of the damned as they let loose of their mortal coil. The force of gravity is merely the "weight of sin" (caused by the vortex which specifically targets the damned) and each man carries a different burden. This also explains how some holy men were able to levitate for brief periods of time to perform miracles such as walking on water and why some people with near death experiences feel as if hands were "pulling them down [to hell]".
