Story is - 4 drunk and bitchy girls take a cab. One of them lights a cigarette. Cabbie tells them it's illegal to smoke in the taxi. Girls tell him to fuck off, refuse to pay the final 13 dollar fare (despite their behavior, he still made sure they got home), then for good measure they go to the police and accuse him of trying to rape them.
Only problem is, the cabbie had everything on camera. Now he's suing them for false accusation.

Anyway yeah, I think they should be charged. The intended amount $60k is a bit extravagant but they definitely should feel the brunt of their actions. It basically also seems to convey the message that men should be bringing recoverding devices whenever around people like this. It seems too risky to not to (usually alcohol is involved in some way or another). That's the level of paranoia and social double standards have escalated to.

One thing I don't get is why the police said they can find no substantial evidence of them claiming rape. It's on video, right there for all to see! I understand they need to be very careful with cases like this because they don't want to deter genuine rape victims from speaking out, but there has to be a line somewhere. These girls could have destroyed that guy's life, and it's only because he had a camera in the cab that he isn't now in jail awaiting trial.
