I'm starting to really like Captain Marvel.
daredevil.....or maybe the green latern (pronounced as one word)..
I like the ones that used cool gadgets, but don't have any superhuman powers, like Batman and Iron Man.
> not obscure at all but idgaf(Edited 1 minute later.)
@previous (F)
I agree with this, but best obscure hero is Stardust the Super Wizard.
popeye..

Animal Man.
Without a doubt.
Grant Morrison is a genius.
The Invisibles, Filth, Saint Swithins Day, Kill Your Boyfriend, etc... all worth reading. I'm not a fan of his mainstream stuff but Animal Man was an awesome read. You can find all his stuff as torrents. His one offs are great. St Swithins Day especially. The Invisibles is a long read but I started halfway through the trade paperback series (Bloody Hell in America) and enjoyed it more. The first book starts out sloooow IMO but reading them out of order and only one a month made it more enjoyable. He's kind of famous in the occult scene because when the Invisibles was failing he requested all of his readers help charge a sigil to keep the series thriving (utilizing one of the most potent techniques to reach gnosis for non-magicians of course... that being orgasm).
Better yet check out his doc
Grant Morrison: Talking With Gods.
I know it's on HULU now. I preordered my copy and thoroughly enjoyed it. I pirate 90% of my media so that says something I suppose of my respect for the man.
NVM it's on YT now:
Grant Morrison: Talking with Gods
His lecture at Disinfocon is also worth a watch where he discusses
magick amongst other things and is obviously a little drunk and his accent comes out a little bit more then. It's pretty amusing to listen to him ramble.

Also read "Pop Magic!":

(Sorry I could only find a scribd link :\ )
The only other comic writer I like is Warren Ellis and he's just a lovable prick. He used to do a regular article for suicide girls, Idk if he still does. Fell is his best work IMO. Doktor Sleepless is also pretty good. I enjoy his work that ties in some of the occult hoodoo stuff though, I forget the title in particular I'm thinking of but it's worthwhile too. His novel
Crooked Little Vein is hilarious and totally worth a read. I got turned on to both of these writers through some occultists at a certain magickal fraternity I used to belong to.
These aren't really for fans of comic books so much as they are for people that enjoy high-weirdness, the occult, fringe culture, mind-fucks, etc.
<3,
You know who.

Incoherent tardrage. Take your autism meds.

Alan Moore's Marvelman/Miracleman. One of the darkest and most vicious deconstructions of the superhero myth ever written. Required reading for any comics nerd.
