due to her life long cig addiction
why does she want me to deal with that??
I asked her why she wouldnt quit she said she loves smoking so much

It's selfish of you to want to dictate your mother's life choices. If she wants to smoke, you let her smoke. I get that you don't want your mom to die, but guess what? Your mother is going to die whether or not she smokes. Your mom raised you, gave you a home, and now she doesn't owe you a damn thing.

One of the main mistakes I made in my relationship with Lexi is that I too often didn't let her live her own life. I acted like I knew better than her, that I was superior minded, but the truth is, she was more aware of herself, and her limitations than I could ever be. My protests of her decisions simply led to strife and conflict. Ducky's mother isn't an idiot, if she were, she wouldn't be able to bring up someone as intelligent, and caring as Ducky. So, she knows the harms of smoking, and trying to force her to stop will only cause problems.
