The great thing about this place is the mobile mode is still far more useable than the shit that 4chan uses. The captcha only makes it even trashier. What I find most interesting is that no matter how hard some people try to attention whore, they never get it. For others, no matter how much they try to avoid it, they always receive it. Fatfuck being an exception because his schtick was/is so fucking relentless it's completely incapable of ignoring. Maybe some people just feel jaded, maybe some betrayed, maybe some just so apathetic that the point for them is to scrape whatever they can only to try to see it burn if only for a fleeting moment.
Or maybe it's a LACK of namefags in order to direct their emotions at which creates a sense of this sort of 'vapidness' when there are only so few people to do it towards. That's the price we pay of anonymity vs. having a smaller/tight-knit community.

In many ways, yes. The primary difference is that I think that what you're speaking of implies legitimate hatred rather than the very casual heckling everyone inflicts on each other here on a regular basis. For some people the learning curve may be too steep or the level of tolerance one can take gets tested so regularly that eventually everyone hits their breaking point. Which is fine, we all have our moments. I guess those are the things other users wait for, because it's oftentimes the starting line for ensuing drama. People say they hate it or don't care for it, but inevitably they always read it because casualfagging in advice/question/non-board discussion threads are so blasé after some time. Not to say they don't serve their purpose, it's just a different matter of opinion for many. It's pretty predictable behaviour, add in some easy mode schtick trolling and then you have this weird mixture of genuine activity combined with repetitive clamoring for who has the final word.
