Is this physical abuse? If so then I would approach him first if it was a close friend but you have to be prepared for things to escalate quickly if you go that route.

Document what you've witnessed, go back as far as you can remember. Photographic evidence ie great to have, even if it's just pictures of bruises. This will help her get a RO. You might want to talk to the victim first as well and assure her that physical abuse isn't part or a normal healthy relationship.

I always knew domestic abuse was cyclical.

Honestly that was a troll response. Being beat sucked and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I wont be friends with someone that is abusive to their partner.

She kicked me out :/ I was still dependant on her for a place to live, so I walked the 5 miles into town on the highway at 4 am because it was finally over, and I didn't mind the walk. I was free.
