Events such as the Boston bombing and other such atrocious acts would stop happening with such regularity if we could drop the pretense that Islam is a 'religion' (of peace) and recognize it for what it really is: a pervasive socio-political movement perpetuated by the cult of Muhammad.
If it was not afforded the freedoms we attach to religion and instead treated like a corrosive political philosophy, perhaps there would be less likelihood they'd feel as protected as they do. Even as a religion Islam has no interest in assimilation with other beliefs. They see themselves as pre-eminent and entitled to dominate all other beliefs. Theirs is a belief of having others completely submit to them.
Let's stop pretending that they are religious and start treating them the way we would with followers of Pol Pot. Giving them a pass because of laws placing religious people in a protected zone gives them an unfair advantage. They've always used nation's laws against others, so there is a real need to remove that advantage.
People only "fear" Islam because they play only by their own rules. No one knows how to counter such narcissism and hubris. How can anyone deal reasonably with people who lack reason?

That's cool, man. I imagine if you had read it you would probably agree. Islam is a plague on modern society. Much like Christianity some time ago (and still is but on a different scale).
At one time the Catholic Church was indistinguishable from a socio-political entity. In the West something happened called The Enlightenment which put much of their power into perspective and over a period of a few centuries, reduced their power and leaving only the religion.
As long as Islam is given the benefit of the doubt and all the special rights and freedoms due to religious belief, Western culture is doomed to the same fate as India was and more recently Indonesia was.
