I don't know anything about that. My anthropology lecture didn't cover it. There have been several studies on it. You can search it if you want, this is more of a "wow that's cool" post than a "let me show people they're wrong" post.

Apparently the dialect Shakespeare and his actors spoke with would have been more similar to a southern US accent than a modern English accent. Think about that next time you go to the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, I guess.
