I had a number of internet girlfriends between the ages of 12-16.
The first was a standard tale of emo blink182 fan meets strange young punk dude who were new on the internet and to teenage urges. It was sexy and fun.
The second internet girlfriend was amazing. Funny, intelligent, creative, artistic, with a perverted undertone. We spoke for 2 years until it got "boring" and she started being suicidal and cutting heavily. We ran out of things to talk about really.
The third girl enters and is a breath of something new. So I cut off the suicidal and depressed one to seduce the new one who makes me happy for a year. I meet up with her in real life and it's awkward and it ends. I cut off my internet friendships and loves.
The kicker. I talked to the second one the other month.
She's still amazing and I remembered why I was was in love with her all those years ago.
Too bad I was a huge arsehole.

Internet relationships are fucking dumb. I had one and never had another. It was ok, but the part that really makes me say that is I've had to see a lot of better friends get shat on or in mountains of drama over them.
If you can make it work; more power to you, but I have seen all of basically 2 work out of many.

I've had online girlfriends, I used to be really involved on a site called "vampirefreaks.com", and I'd get into "relationships" with people on there. There was one girl who was a compulsive liar, and told me for like a year that she was moving out to my area. Then pretended for a while that she did, but just like 2 states over, and then finally once she figured out I was no longer buying her shit she started telling people she was from Wales again. I remember also she'd never say "no" to anything, she'd just delay it until I stopped asking. Strange.
