monday, I'm at work and it's towards the end of the shift, but some things need to be done and we've already turned in the keys to the toolbox to support and our production supervisor comes out to the floor to look over our maintenance and points out we've installed some shit wrong and tells us to fix it. seeing as how we turned in the keys to the toolbox already and checking out the toolbox to make the changes would require the toolbox to undergo another toolbox check, we've decided to grab the dispatch box, a small hand-carry tool box meant for maintenance that needs to be done on the flightline. I do so, the box is checked out we do the necessary maintenance changes, then i check the toolbox in. come today, Thursday, i'm called into the office and am told by the day shift pro super that the day before, support took a QA fail because the dispatch box underwent an inspection and FOD was found; a piece of safety wire. safety wire in which i had nothing to do with since i didn't fuck with any safety wire when i checked that box out, just used a 3/8ths set up and wrench... which can only mean 'that' piece of safety wire was in there long before i checked that box out. though, that's now how it's seen. since i was the only person who checked out the box this week, i, along with those working that shift have to come in saturday morning at 0630 and clean all the toolboxes out on the floor along with all the shelves in support to ensure there is no FOD of any kind... this is bad timing. i understand QA is doing their job, but damn... this week felt longer than usual and i usually wind down with a good amount of alcohol. that's not going to happen accordingly.
any of y'all deal with bs like this?

Tell Pro Super that if the fuck ups in Support were doing their jobs it would have been caught when you turned in the box. Second, check the forms for the box and see when the last 30 day was done, if it was due then they shouldn't have signed the box out to you in the first place. As far as the QA write up, fuck them too. Those faggots can't stay in QA forever, when they get done with their time they have to go back to the real world and that's when they get fucked biiiiig time. One more thing, everyone knows that all the fuck ups get sent to Support so it should come as no big surprise to Pro Super OR QA that such a thing happened. As long as nothing got impounded you're good. If there is no LOC or LOR then it shouldn't mess up your EPR.
If your boss gives you shit just ask him if he wants a 341 and tell him to go fuck his mother.

hahaha! i feel a bit the same way. but since i wasn't given paperwork, i didn't really mind much. still, it just sucks. plus, i agree with support doing their job, but also, the one who checks something out should give it a look over before it's scanned. shouldn't always rely on that they're doing their job, or anyone else really, you need to have some confirmation for yourself as back up. i've learned that, but because i guess i got too complacent, i've been slackin'. ya, QA can be a pain, but they're just doing their job, and that means it can benefit you, since they get a final look over which means you can avoid a major fuck up costing you your job and saving you from time in jail.

lol it didn't always used to be like that. Support was like a place you end up when you knew your shit, much like test cell (from what i heard)

lol you're crazy, they're good people. the fact that i wasn't given paperwork, that's gravy. (still the death of my weekend stings a bit) and a 341...lol no!
