Blizzard did the same thing with Diablo 3 that EA did with Sim City, but worse: Blizzard lies about the reasons for always-online, accounts still are being hacked, and it's far harder to mod Diablo 3 to make it run offline (attempts at server emulators so far have gotten nowhere).

eBay's customer service is really bad. Monsanto though manages to be worse. It won't let farmers save seeds. Then it sends employees around to spy on farmers and sue them for saving seeds. And since genetically engineered plants polinate with organic farms, they sue the organic farmers as well. Everyone is sued and the food supply is unsafe --- Monsanto!
Monsanto also publically says it only cares about making money, nothing else. Genetically engineered crops made at universities are actually good, but Monsanto's ones are toxic.

EA is only fooling themselves when they say it is to provide a more immersive player experience when people keep having their data rolled back and had a brick for the first week because the company didn't have the insight to make sure their servers could handle as many connections as they manufactured copies of the game. And it seems even EA employees aren't buying into this lie. They also played the conservative fundie card.
