From the depression itself? No, or at least I don't think. I guess I would know for sure if that were the case. Are you experiencing some? I've had crazy symptoms from an SSRI I used to take. Don't take SSRIs.

I feel like i got all the depression symptoms without the actual depression. got 3 different brands of SSRI's, can't take any of them cause my symptoms get worse after as little as one day. now I'm on this
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_John%27s_wort which is basically a natural SSRI. I've been taking it for a week and my symptoms wont go away, but it makes me care a little less...

All I know about SSRIs is they made me a hollow shell, gave me horribly vivid nightmares and were extremely hard to quit. I stopped taking the medicine abruptly and had horrible withdrawal symptoms. Throwing up constantly, body aches, weak stomach, migraines, clammy skin, the sweats, so I was forced to get back on it and taper off. I still had some pretty bad withdrawals. Don't take SSRIs.
I don't know about John's wort but from what I've read, it does sound better, being a natural herbal remedy. I would still be hesitant about it being anything like SSRIs just based off of the awful time I had with them!

Abandon that shit and take up a constructive hobby, preferably outdoors.

note: this helps, but doesn't fix it.

It depends on what kind of condition you may have. I got over my clinical depression by ignoring prescription medication, began exercising, quit smoking and increased focus on the positives and overcoming my negatives.

I had my dark points.
I think it was last year I was in my kitchen with a steak knife really considering ending it. Then I came too.
If you feel depressed, talk to someone. It can really help. Go to a friend or family member.

You have to find the right ssri since everyone is different. And quitting cold turkey is begging for suicide. They're a million times easier to stop taking if you do it correctly.
When I started taking them (stopped after a couple years) I didn't even get a prescription for most of a year. My doctor kept giving me tons of the sample packs until we were sure everything was right. Luckily the first one we tried worked great, with just one really rare side effect during the initial ramp.
If you're taking anything that alters brain chemistry you really need to be working closely with your doctor.

Yea, I understand that the side effects with specific medicines vary person to person. I guess I just gave up on SSRIs after having such a bad experience. I take
Mirtazapine now and it's a lot better for me.

There are clinics run by Sciencetology who will rape your wallet for $35,000 and turn you in2 one of them. Depression they say is fixed LOL

That's the nice thing now, there are lots of potential paths to take. If I had been diagnosed when I was a kid when it first showed up I would have really had only one choice, lithium. Hooray. Almost 25 years of untreated depression leaves you with some side effects from the disease itself.

What symptoms do you think you're experiencing and for how long? There are some alternatives to SSRIs for major depression. Tramadol for instance. I never had much luck with any antidepressant apart from celexa but YMMV.

Then cannabis, sunlight, strength training, goal planning, a healthy diet, and a little time in nature is my prescription. Can be done without the cannabis.

How can you tell when you're depressed, op? I start compulsively watching diving accident videos and 911 calls from September 11th.
