I think some music takes a level of maturity to appreciate. Jazz, classical, any songs that have any kind of complex meanings. Also, I do think certain more graphic themes should be avoided until older. Understanding the feeling of violence doesn't mean you should commit it, sex and drugs have consequences etc.
