Topic: Serious question: if you believe in determinism, then isn't blame essentially pointless?

I watched this crime scene some weeks ago where one of the cops said she didn't belive in god or bad but in reasons. That is how I look at it too. I'm a determinist and I belive there's always a reason for what people do, let it be a bad childhood or bad genes, a trauma or anything.

So many people are always searching for the one to blame. Instead we should just look at cause and effect.
