The DMZ is a 2 mile wide 151 mile long "no man's land" that separates North and South Korea. It is "patrolled" by an impartial third party (the Swiss).
Many an American mother has received a letter informing them of a sons untimely death due to a "training accident" this is a lie. What really happens is U.S. and ROK forces routinely engage DRK infiltrators. Much blood has been spilt on that little strip of land.
