Topic: Why don't people still discuss elderly abuse?

+Anonymous A13.5 years ago #20,162

Abuse of any kind is wrong. Especially to those who are defenseless (children, the mentally/physically handicapped and the elderly.)

I rarely see anything about the abuse that goes on in homes for the elderly and mentally handicapped? Why is that? Do people just not care anymore?

It seems like in the 90s is was much more apparent with 60 Minutes reports on those "crooked homes". Maybe they just became more regulated and and individual cases seemed to fall off the radar?
