Just FYI most of the prices are pretty inflated IMO. If you're buying locally I'd try looking for alternate resources to determine the appropriate price range for the goods you want. BlueLight used to have a great price guide where members from the states and abroad would post the going rates for stuff. I think they quit allowing it or some shit. Idk I haven't visited in a while. Subreddits are a good spot, just be upfront about why you're asking. Albeit if you admit your clueless about the value of something they might take you as an easy mark so don't fall for any offers. Just ask for going rates.
You can usually haggle a little, especially if you're buying a decent amount. Anything above $100 on the street should get you a little bit of a break since they're used to nickle and dime shit most of the time. Mid-level dealers get better prices then those at street level though so you'll get better price breaks but you'd have to buy in larger quantities.
A lb of cannabis would last me a year or longer, is easy to preserve, and definitely the cheapest way to buy short of going to the source or growing. Of course the penalty goes up with the quantity and even if you legitimately intended to use such a large quantity solely for personal use you'd probably get hit with a conspiracy charge (if you got busted with it that is). /ramble

Yeah I'd probably smoke a pound a year. I would never buy a pound though, I get immune to the shit after an ounce and need to change my flavour. I've got grower hook ups, and try to grow a couple of plants every season.

Ah I don't have that problem.
Cultivation is fun and relaxing. I'd like to do it again someday.
