I watched High Plains Drifter the other night and I was shocked to see the attitude towards rape in a film made in 1973. It's about a stranger who comes into a Western town and fights the bad guys and corrupt men who run the town.
In the beginning of the film, The Stranger, the hero played by Eastwood, argues with a sassy blonde woman, then drags her into a barn and rapes her. Such a 'pro-rape' attitude, where the hero flagrantly rapes a woman, could never be shown in a film made today. In fact, the townspeople mock the victim after her rape. Again, these are the good guys and the rapist is the hero.
On the one hand I like to see a hero who is not all or good bad, but human. I'm just surprised our ethical attitude has changed so much as a result of feminism.
Here's a good review of the film:

I haven't been shocked by a film in years. The reviewer seems to think the woman deserved to be raped.
