I'd love to do some dark art like the things you post but I don't really have the creativity for those odd things. Sometimes Pyramidhead invades my visions but that's about it.

Idk some of the darker stuff I produce comes out of personal experience but I also read a lot of Lovecraft when I was younger. Filling people with a sense of dread of the unknown is easy, especially when you utilize occult imagery. Even if the symbolism is lost on most of your audience. I think it's better to produce bad art than no art at all. Eventually you'll do something and surprise yourself if you keep at it. I prefer visual mediums (although I do a little bad writing to compliment the bad painting too).

Not quite in the same vein but check out or download a copy of "Visual Magic" by Jan Fries and try your hand at automatic drawing. It's much easier to do when you're under the influence and have some nice mood music as well.

I decided against it because I was in a rather foul mood and compounded by my general lack of sleep I didn't want to mess with it. Probably will wait until the weekend, but I did find some creative inspiration so at least it wasn't a total waste.
