The last time I cried was when I was 8 years old.It was mothers day in the UK.
I had a disabled brother and a very bad home life which meant I got ignored.
At the time it felt like nobody loved me.
My parents were pre-occupied with my brother, my older brother was trying to escape the household so I never saw him.
We were making mothers day cards and I felt the sadness.
I tried to hold back my tears; I could feel them coming.
There were two twins in class whose mother had died; they weren't crying.
Their mother was dead, why am I crying? Why doesn't my mother love me?
But I couldn't hold it back and I burst into tears at the table.
Paralysed while I was trying to hold them back.
The teacher let the class go to break early and she comforted me.
I said "I don't think my mother loves me."
Since then I vowed never to cry again in public.
And I haven't cried since.
This memory haunts me with guilt though; now I know what my mother had to go through.
I know I will remember this at her funeral and it'll make me cry again.
