A group of boys didn't want to watch "Babe" the pig in our school class.
We all talked about how we would say we wouldn't watch it.
So I prepared to say no!
She said we're going to the other classroom and I said "No! We don't want to watch babe!"
And as such I turned around; My support had vanished.|
None of the other boys backed me up.
At this point I felt betrayed but I would not look like a fool!
So my teacher said "Then you won't watch it. You can stare at the wall."
And so I did. I was sat beside a cabinet where I could not see.
I stared at that cabinet intensely until the film was over.
I looked the teacher in the eye as I left that day.
This had a big impact on my life and I realised you can never trust a single person.
No matter how small the act you cannot trust them to rebel with you.
Now I don't trust anyone. Also I still don't like the film Babe.
That movie made me cry.
@OP
You learned that lesson early. My short experience tells me that if you volunteer to represent a group on any controversial subject there is a good chance you will be left with egg on your face.

I know Anon F!
I come from a family of socialist and soviet revolutionaries.
People have marched, fought and died in my family for social causes for generation upon generation.
I think I'm where it all stops and it was all down to that damn Babe moment!
I've never believed in the power of change since.
