If I was a police dispatcher in a movie, I'd have a conveyor belt next to me that sends police jobs written on little bits of paper, a desk mic and a radio. Who else would have a similar setup?

Old tv bw show it was more simple - Andy got the phone call and walked out to car n rode out to fix problem. No mike no belt no radio no bit o paper.
Modern NOC centers its about the same- Alarm goes off and someone takes the trouble ticket and fixes it - Simple - Might take a truck to dig up the broken water pipe that messed with the cable - repeaters -
Might take the gas company to come out and fix the broken gas line - but its one person who does the fix - I just did for Direct TV - One person - no paper no phone no mic hell I do not have a mike
