Topic: Why EA are cunts and always online DRM is bad
+Anonymous — 13.5 years ago #19,181

Remember when some inbreds, shills, and consolefriends would claim always-online DRM is a measure against piracy, probably anticipating the inevitable always-online console?
Turns out EA employees themselves prove them wrong.
> This DRM scheme is not about the consumers or even about piracy. It’s about covering your own asses. It allows you to hand-wave weak sales or bad reviews and blame outside factors like pirates or server failures in the event the game struggles. You are protecting your own jobs at the expense of consumers.

The Diablo III makers Blizzard just lied and claimed it was to prevent cheating, instead of even admitting it.

Does that somehow make it less of a dick move?
