generally speaking he works with clay molds and then switches to a mix of resin and fiberglass mesh, i think. here is an older photo before he started painting.

well since its hand-made and the biggest issue is molding the thing itself because of the detail. this is just the first out of a set of four different ones. the way he explains it to me is that he's intending to sell at a slightly lower price so long as people make set orders rather than individual orders (international shipping costs and such being another factor).
