Quite the interesting book.

Is that the sequel to Childhood's Beginning?

What I always find interesting about this book is how it seems like a Christian commentary about angels and the "Overmind" being a parallel for God... I would hate to think how it could be translated onto film since I doubt they could accurately capture the message. It would be interesting, though.

Science fiction. Do you need a quick overview?

Not necessary as Anonymous D could just as easily read the wikipedia article, so what's your point? People ask for tl;dr on here all the time when they could just as easily consult Google.

Okay. So I haven't bothered googling it. Why not post your opinion instead of wikipedia copypasta?

Basically the story is that there are aliens known as "Overlords" that appear above Earth that initiate world peace and promise to reveal themselves to humanity after 50 years. The story follows this idea that humanity grows to be in global harmony until the promised date that the Overlords alien species reveal themselves (this is a huge plot point which I won't reveal) but it goes on to talk about how huamnity is affected, the future of all nations and how a "utopia" creates this rather stagnant living environment where humans begin to lack creativity because this utopian harmony makes life completely boring. It's really interesting. It leads up to how the Overlords explain why this happens and how they deal with it up until the end of the book.
