Day 1 - Oprah.com inspired Leek and Broccoli soup with a Ginger Twist.
Ok this is a black person recipe I found on Oprah.com since leeks and broccoli are in season in Great Britain!
Ratings :
Ease to make : 3/5 (Washing leeks is extra work!)
Looks : 2/5 (Looks like snot. I'm not into snot)
Taste : 3/5 (Tastes like broccoli with a milky edge, should have blended it)
Smell : 3/5 (It smells like the colour green)
Calories : 4/5 (If you cut down on the VEGAN butter it's ok, broccoli and leeks are low fat!)
Recipe :
1 large bunch broccoli (about 1 1/2 pounds)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon unsalted butter (USE LESS AND MAKE IT VEGAN)
2 medium leeks , white and light green parts only, thinly sliced
1 medium baking potato , peeled and cut into 1-inch pieces
1 clove garlic , thinly sliced
3 cups low-sodium VEGAN vegetable broth
3/4 teaspoon salt
Pinch freshly ground pepper
1/4 cup (FLOUR AND OR NUTRITIONAL YEAST FOR VEGANS)
1/4 cup snipped chives
ADD SOME GINGER IT ADDS SOME GOOD CONTRAST TO THE BROCCOLI (GAVIN PRO TIP)

Vegan? I herd you guys wear special vegan shoes, made from synthetics and not made of leather. Do you have special shoes?
·Gavin !!KyvSN1WTu (OP) — 13.6 years ago, 9 minutes later, 5 hours after the original post[T] [B] #226,272
@previous (G)
Lots of shoes are vegan to be fair. Cheaper than leather to use synthetic shit.
There are completely ethical shoes which are vegan and ethically produced.
I don't have any super ethical shoes because they're so expensive.
I wear a size 16 shoe so vegan shoes in that size are ££££££££££££.

Now here's a Gavin tip!
If you're sick of your soup since it's your only meal all day you can spice it up!
I like using a tex-mex spice mix of garlic, cayenne, smoked paprika and not very hot chilis.
You can also use curry paste, green or red.
Or even a chinese spice mix.
Here is my broccoli and leek soup with some tex mex spices in it, yum yum.
@226,455 (Omen !!hnQvReR0M)
I got that food on my hand eating the dish because it was so delicious.
@previous (L)

Day 4 : DAY OLD SOUP
I ate the same soup as yesterday because not all of it was eaten!
It tastes even more like tomato today, I hope I don't get any bacteria disease that eat my insides.
If I do, I hope they eat the fat insides first.
ANYWAY
Here's my tip for today : GREEN TEA WITH JUICE
If you steep green tea for hours you get much more of its SCIENTIFICALLY PROVE GOODNESS. But it makes it taste super bitter, so every night I put 2 teabags in a pot of boiling water. In the morning they are sup steeped and bitter when I add a tiny bit of juice, which makes it delicious.
Pictured : 1 litre of home made juice infused green tea. Todays TEA SOUP.

If I said "eat some of this chicken, or I'll kill two more chickens" Would you eat it? Because you would be responsible for their deaths if you didn't.
·Gavin !!KyvSN1WTu (OP) — 13.5 years ago, 38 minutes later, 5 days after the original post[T] [B] #230,942
@previous (G)
As an exercise separated from the rest of the world and reality I would eat the chicken to save the other two.
But in the real world I probably would not because I would find another solution.
And if there was no other solution I would still not because I could not be sure that the outcome of the other two chickens surviving would definitely come about. You could be lying for you are an immoral man forcing this choice upon me, circumstances might change, or things might happen. So I cannot perform an immoral action justified by a moral consequence which is not guaranteed to happen and out of my control.

·Gavin !!KyvSN1WTu (OP) — 13.5 years ago, 2 hours later, 5 days after the original post[T] [B] #231,156
@231,029 (O)
It's generally advised to take a flax seed (EPA/DHA) / B vitamins / Iron supplements because although you can get it from a diet it's easier and cheaper to make sure with supplements.
You have to remember Veganism isn't a brand new thing. In the east vegans and vegetarians have lived into ripe old age without supplements or modern diet analysis.
Lots of vegetables, grains, beans and fruit have great mineral/vitamin profiles so it isn't too hard in the scheme of things.
