I find it hard to believe anything like that can be prosecuted, even if it involves the mail. There is a lot that can be examined under the microscope of the law, but this does not seem like such a case. It's a guy who doesn't even live in the United States. He lives in a country with few freedoms and a repressive government. His chances of prosecuting are slim.

Supposedly he's Lynne Brian Goldstein of Cardiff by the Sea, California but to prove in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt, the court would have to go through lots of posts here, subpoena IP addresses, subpoena Syntax, do depositions, set up a Federal trial, and its just too much work over a few scat photos.
If Syntax sent them anthrax then yes the feds would go through all this trouble but no one cares about a few bad photos.
