Nichiren Buddhism must be the world's most fucked and incomprehensible religion. Their whole religion revolves around chanting the title of a sacred book. They don't actually read or study this sacred book, they just chant its title. When I pressed for clarification, the monk told me that the book ("The Lotus Sutra") had come into existence thousands of years earlier and been the object of veberation of many Buddhists, but this was only a kind of cosmic trick so that Nichiren-ists would eventually figure out that chanting the book title over and over again (rather than reading the book) was the true secret underlying intention and meaning of life.

I mean, that's even more fucked up than Chrstian fundie shit.

Secular buddhism is the way to go, although, too many people try to reconcile it with their disgusting western lives.
