'oh hey let's go back in time & get burned as witches & die unknown'
time travelers are surprisingly thick cunts for people who can traverse dimensions.

We are already traveling through time.

Time travel is impossible because Einstein broke it. Actually traveling back through time is quite simple: all you have to do is accelerate logarithmically until you surpass the speed of light. Except according to Einstein, even if you were moving at light speed, light would still outpace you by a factor of one. You can never outrun the passage of time, only slow its progress to near-stillness. Traveling forward through time is simply a matter of slowing the functions of the human body to a crawl in such a manner that you age at a rate which is closer to the scale on which a star might age. You would of course still age, but in such a way that seconds for you would equate to years, decades, centuries, or millennia for the rest of humanity. The catch is that this is essentially a waiting game in which you slow down while everything else keeps moving around you. You'd need an external timer to keep track of the passage of time and restore your body to normal functioning capacity when the target date is at hand. This would require a continuous power source which is sustainable for the duration of the wait. Furthermore, there is no protection to prevent interference from the world at large. At any time, your 'sleep' could be interrupted by someone disconnecting the suspension apparatus. The inevitable progress of civilization jeopardizes the long-term security of any 'safe zone' you may have. Depending on the length of time you intend to 'sleep' for, the changing surface of the Earth may also pose a threat to your location.

"Right now" is a moving point in time based on whenever a person reads it. Because it is a shifting target, it is effectively traveling through time.
