Especially in non-Western countries, but those too, why do "backpackers" travelers always look like they're about to climb Mt. Everest when just walking around a city? Like, all the locals are dressed in normal clothes, but the fucking backpackers are wearing technical hiking boots and clothes, a fucking Northface jacket, and wearing their entire, stuffed professional technical mountain climbing backpack. Why? Why can't they wear normal clothes like the fucking locals?

My favorite is when they pack it full of granola. Everyone else is stopping at the cafe, you gonna squat down like an animal and feed on oats??
