Topic: In America, this is a sport.

Eating is a fucking sport in America where the goal is to eat as much as you can within a time limit. Now, if you don't see the problem with that then you're an American.

Joey Chestnut isn't even remotely overweight and some of his contenders include Asian men such as Takeru Kobayashi.

Granted making $10,000 that way is retarded YET YET

If you were to live in England?

Several places in USA such as
http://bigtexan.com/72-oz-steak/
http://www.roadsideamerica.com/story/3087

Offer this dinner FREE FREE IF and only IF you can finish the meal - 4 & 1/2 pounds of steak, (which is 72 oz’s) baked potato, shrimp cocktail, salad & a bread roll.

You have to eat it all up in One hour max but its ok 2not eat the fat.

So its dinner for free OR OR YOU Pay $72

If you win you also get a T shirt and a trophy

As I C it - Winning wood be horrid just horrid on the body. Joey Chestnut ate it all up in 9 minutes.

"50,000 have started the Free 72 Ounce Steak challenge; less than 9,000 have finished. Only a handful of women try each year --- but they have a better success rate than men, and their number includes the oldest person ever to win, a 69-year-old grandmother. Other notable champions include pro wrestler Klondike Bill, who ate two 72-ounce steak dinners in an hour, and competitive eater Joey Chestnut, who ate his entire meal in less than nine minutes.

Is no one going to mention that we have a whole television series dedicated to a guy going around the country competing in local food challenges (not competitions)?
Anyway, it's not really ridiculous at all. People will turn anything that you can compete in into a sport.
I bet fucking's a sport somewhere. Maybe not officially for illegal things like drugs, but you get my point.

If you are referring to Man v. Food, the show is cancelled and the host only did it for 3 seasons (the fourth and last one was with guests). He quit because of making sure his health would be stable and mentioned that when not taping episodes he was exercising frequently and held to a strict vegan diet when he wasn't attempting those challenges.

tl;dr it's all about balancing your input vs. your output.

Edit: whoops, 3 seasons.
