Make it about a rag tag group of teenagers going on an adventure. Set it in a retro-present time period. The main character happens to lack the ability to speak. While wanting to explore with his friends, he secretly hopes to find his mother who abandoned him when he was three. Think of it as an RPG where the teens don't have super powers that go beyond explanation, but rather in a style like EarthBound. Oh, and make sure The Doctor gets an appearance. He loves his Nintedoes.

I'm tired of all these "two hundred years after" bullshit where people fight monsters that ravaged then land ages ago and are back.
Make one where its a completely peaceful world, never had the need for war and an invading race is attacking them and nobody knows what to do. The PC's will have to magyver EVERYTHING to succeed.
