What is your connection with a fellow who goes by Mike Fiddlehopper Steve?

None to my knowledge unless he uses another
alias.
Did he serve in the military, is he a member of any subversive terrorist groups and/or occult fraternities, or does he have a prescence in the underground clandestine chemistry scene?

The bi-weekly city hall public forum of course.
Most of the other forums I used to lurk that dealt with clandestine chemistry, subversive topics, fringe politics, occultism, firearms, kink, or a combination thereof have long since went downhill or the forums became defunct over time so for now I suppose TC is my favorite
public forum. The private ones I still occasionally participate in generally move much slower and are mostly focused on drugs or occultism.

I've heard you mention stuff that I can recognize as Thelemic. Have you ever done any Thelemic magick or initiations into the Ordo Templi Orientis? Just curious.

Yes to all of the above. I'm ex-OTO. The only magickal fraternity I belong to at present is the IOT. I still consider myself a Thelemite though.

I've become friends with a lot of Thelemites and former Thelemites.
I find it interesting and it has influenced me a bit.

I was introduced to Thelema about 10 years ago and at the time I found it to be very liberating. I progressed fairly rapidly in the OTO but without naming names the politics got old fast and a lot of the older members had lost sight of the orders function. There was also plenty of partying which I didn't mind but it seemed to me like a lot of it had degraded into a social club with pretty deep schisms and most people forgot or ignored the Work altogether so I became disillusioned with it. A few of my fraters and sorors tried to recruit me for a new thelemic lodge but I was burnt out on it at the time. With the IOT I found a lot of similarities but it didn't pretend to be something it wasn't and most of them didn't take themselves too seriously, which I appreciated.
I have nothing against the OTO but I don't want any part of it until they do some major overhauls and unfortunately their energies are too scattered to accomplish that at the present. Maybe that'll change in the future.
I don't take the holy books or liber al vel Legis as gospel but there is a wealth of wisdom for those that have the background knowledge to make sense of it. Although even the laymen can take a lot away from it without truly understanding every little nuance.
I have a lot or respect for some of my peers still in the OTO but less respect for the organization as a whole.
I think separating Thelema from the OTO can make it a much more valuable tool for aspiring occultists, wanderers, and seekers.
It also helped me to deprogram a lot of my religious upbringing. Other authors of interest which I still have mixed feelings about but do have a few pearls of wisdom are Christopher Hyatt, Ransey Dukes, Francis Breakspear, Austin Osman Spare, Phil Hine, Jan Fries, and Peter Carroll. Amongst though Ramsey Dukes has probably had the most profound impact on me.
If you have any specific questions I'll be glad to answer them where prudent unless I've swornn not to. I don't want to drag the lodge I was in through the mud so I won't name them here out of respect for some of its officers.

PS: posted that wall of text from my mobile so excuse any typos. I'll be back in civilization Wednesday night to answer any other more in depth questions but people are always welcome to contact me on my throwaway if they have legitimate questions about Thelema or the OTO.

Thank you for telling me this. I really do enjoy serious discussions about stuff and this happens to be a real favorite of mine. I got into Thelemic stuff because of reading about Freemasonry in conspiracy theories. I ended up going from conspiracy theorist to finding the stuff I was learning about interesting. It was the fear mongering theories about the OTO and Aleister Crowley that made me wonder why he was so hated. I still don't understand the hate very well. I think he spoke of things in a very compelling way, which is one of the things I like about his books. The "To Mega Therion" is the best leader the OTO has had in a long time. I almost wish I had known him.
One of the first contacts I had with the OTO was a YouTube channel called IlluminatiOvIndiana. His videos featured a form of Freemasonic rite called the Rite of Memphis-Misraim, which is included in some OTO initiations. The videos of the first degree rite got a lot of attention, both from Thelemites, OTO members, and outraged Freemasons. It is very neat to see them now and some of the OTO rites.

Walking meditations should probably read as "hiking" but that's just how I think of it. I also fish, canoe, and kayak a little... amongst other things.
I'd like to get into motorcycles but I just haven't taken the time to get my motorcycle license yet and have only a few hours logged riding them.

Crowley is despised for a number of reasons, some of them are justified. However for the most part it's just "satanic panic" and trying to besmirch the man to scare children away from falling into the "satanic" clutches of a liberating philosophy like Thelema. You don't have to look very hard to find real reasons to dislike the man and even his most devout students find parts of his character irksome. He also left plenty of blinds and pitfalls to deliberately lead people astray that didnt have the proper training to make sense of the work. Being a real student of Thelema is something of a lifelong pursuit IMO and while Crowley was a bastard he wasn't the demon a lot of people would lead you to believe.
