This girl I have an on and off thing with (not my wife which youve seen her boots; I'm polyamorous but that's irrelevant) who is also a kinkster has some awesome platform boots. I never thought to ask who the manufacturer was but the boots are sexy as fuck and while she's not short-short (5'4'' I think) it does make a difference... she has a uhm stronger "presence" in them let's say.

The missus occasionally rocks combat boots with a skirt or a dress and that too is ridiculously sexy to me.

I just wear that same ol combat boots everyday although I have to replace them once every so many years. I wear a size 13 and have wide feet so finding a boot that fits right can be challenging although Rockys and Matterhorns have never let me down.

Before my current Rockys I had a pair of 5.11 boots and while they were OK they just aren't as tough as Rockys (although I did get a lot of mileage out of them). As for platform boots I'm not aware of any really solid ones. I guess it doesn't matter if you only plan to wear them on special occasions though.

I miss my combat boots. They were awesome, but a couple sizes too big - I've never seen men's size 4 combat boots. Actually everything I had for combats was too big, but parade uniform fit fine.
Thinking of heading down to Camden to get platforms, they're everywhere and probably cheaper than they are online.
Or I could go Kim Jong-il and wear elevator shoes... the options

Try outlet malls and look at combat boots for young men, I'm sure you'll be able to find some on clearance. That or periodically check places like eBay. Boots in my size are a little bit easier to find but 9/10/11s are much more common. :[

Worse case scenario you might have to special order some boots directly from a manufacturer (my younger brother usually has to since he wears a size 15). Unfortunately this route can be a little more expensive.

I just googled rocky boots size 4 and they do have them. That particular style is hideous but I'm sure if you do a little browsin you'll find something to your liking. My current ones are Rocky AlphaForce (8'') but I primarily wanted ones with a side zipper. I liked my last pair of Rockys better but these are a lot lighter so they're better for hiking.

Ah I missed that post. My connection is shit here but it's nice to be away from everything too.

Honestly $90 is that bad for a good pair of
boots. The most I've spent on any is about $200 but I was disappointed with them in the end and ended up selling them on eBay and making back most of what I had spent. Rockys are solid though, my only complaint about the latest pair is the flap that covers the zipper is stitched poorly and could tear easy.

My Rockys before that were awesome but I can't remember the model. They were a lot heavier and a little more expensive but damn I loved those boots.

I like 'em. I wanted a pair of "para" boots like that but never bought them (they may have been a little taller, I think they were 10''). The only real difference was the toe area was hi-gloss black.

Anyway I think you'll enjoy them after you break them in. They usually hold up a lot better than chucks, sneakers, etc anyway. Plus combat boots are just sexy.

They're a bitch to wear without an insole though, worst things ever. I think you're supposed to polish the toe area. Kind of annoying but it doesn't take too long.
Right now I've got a pair of chucks crossed with pseudo construction boots. Favorite shoes ever, barely scuffed after a year of going everywhere.

Well I polish my boots and everything but these boots looked almost like they had a clear coat over the toe area. The rest of the boot looked like your standard polished leather. I might post them tomorrow when I'm back at the home base and have Internet access.

Those don't look too bad but I doubt they would last me 90 days, I might be mistaken though but I'm pretty rough on boots because of where I wander.

My wife is 5'5'' and she's about the perfect height with me at 6'1. I wouldn't mind if she was a couple inches taller though but she's a good height. I've dated taller and shorter women and both have certain pros and cons when it comes to certain posistions but that's about it. If I have real chemistry with the person I could care less how tall they are tbh.
