I never really thought of Lexi as an intellectual. Average, above average in some areas, perhaps below average in others. Normal human amount of intelligence. But every girl I've had the displeasure of getting to know has been a moron, to the point that pretending I was fond of them hurt me physically. I won't name names, but every girl I've mentioned and more has made ex-cupcake look like a genius, at least Lexi had her shit together, and wasn't strung out on drugs trying to convince me that crystals are magic, and that she's a "perfectionalist". The only exception to this is Christy, the girl I went on a date with right after Lexi broke up with me or like 3 weeks after, anyway. But she was cold, and cared more about her career than people. Which I can admire from afar, but certainly doesn't work in a romantic relationship.
Oh, and now I keep dreaming about girls that don't exist. Great, my brain with a lack of worthwhile members of the opposite sex has decided to create its own. Do you know how fucking sad that is? If I have a crush on a celebrity I still have that one in a million chance, if I dream about my ex, that's still semi-plausible, one day, who knows? But girls that don't exist? Literally no chance of me getting with them. And the worst part? They won't even fucking sleep with me.

Yes, and no. I obviously have gotten people to like me in the past, and I have talked to a few girls who are fond of me. But the girls I have gone after in the past month or so have all been legitimately stupid regardless of their opinion of me. I honestly think my insincerity shows, and people are put off by that. I need to find a girl who I actually admire, but that's turning out to be difficult. Should be obvious though considering my ex was the only person I can honestly say I was in love with. I like qualities of people, I can find something like about nearly anyone, but it's rare for me to really be attracted to someone's entire personality.
Tl; dr im liked by plenty of girls, my standards are too high, and my heart isn't really in it.

Your point is valid. Except I live trying to always top my last experience. If I have someone new they must be more attractive, more exciting, and all around better than my last experience. Which coincidentally does keep me on my own.
