Amanda Bynes Arrested For Drugs Possession, Wears Blonde Wig Amanda Bynes was arrested for drugs possession at her New York City apartment on Thursday evening (May 23, 2013). The television star covered her face with a wild platinum wig as she was led out of her building in Manhattan and into night court, where she will face a judge this morning.
TMZ.com covered the whole thing, initially reporting that Bynes had been arrested for marijuana possession. Law enforcement sources said police found weed when they responded to a call about a disorderly person at Bynes' apartment building. It has since transpired that the person in the lobby was Bynes herself, smoking a joint.
When police arrived, she was back in her apartment and let officers in when they knocked, however, she also tossed a bong out of the window, which led to the eventual arrest for both drug possession and reckless engagement (and felony tampering with evidence). Sources confirm Bynes was briefly taken to hospital for a psychiatric evaluation before she was booked. Amanda reportedly went ballistic during the arrest, yelling "Don't you know who I am?".
