Perhaps by now he had mended his need for child like qualities - I don't understand sex and pain yet aware their are people wired like that.

In his 2010 book,
Anarchy Evolution: Faith, Science, and Bad Religion in a World Without God, Greg Graffin explicitly identifies as an atheist.
Key details regarding Graffin's views:

The quote: Graffin writes, "I've never believed in God, which technically makes me an atheist (since the prefix 'a' means 'not' or 'without')".
Atheism vs. Naturalism: While accepting the label, Graffin expresses discomfort with the term "atheist" because he believes it defines someone by what they don't believe, rather than what they do. He prefers to identify as a naturalist.
Philosophy: In Anarchy Evolution, he details how naturalism and science serve as a foundation for a fulfilling life, arguing that people can build meaningful relationships and a moral framework without requiring religious doctrine.

Graffin, who holds a PhD in zoology and is the frontman for punk band Bad Religion, also discussed these themes in his email correspondence with professor Preston Jones in the book Is Belief in God Good, Bad, or Irrelevant?.
