The "Out of Africa" theory remains the prevailing scientific model for the origin and dispersal of modern humans (Homo sapiens). Far from being discredited, it is supported by a substantial body of evidence from genetics, fossil records, and archaeology .
Scientific consensus overwhelmingly holds that modern humans evolved in Africa and then migrated to other parts of the world, replacing archaic human populations. This theory has been continually refined and strengthened by modern DNA analysis and new fossil discoveries, not overturned .
You can read more about the scientific understanding of human evolution on the Smithsonian Institution's human origin site or by reviewing academic sources.
