I have spent a huge amount of my life in the development of Spyware. From the days of a group of us inventing how to spy from Aircraft and take photographs without a Lens. Imaging Radar. See through clouds and canopy's and even underground. Located tombs in Egypt undiscovered and Maya civilization, which were impossible to view with the naked eye. First in Aircraft and then of course in Satellites. Of course we at Hughes Malibu labs and Culver City came up with all kinds of Spy this and that and for an agency 50 X larger than the famous 3 letter spy agency everyone knows.
The spy game has been going on since the days of Adam and Eve. I don't do that anymore but sure miss the technology and last time I used it was to turn a Cellphone into a Imaging Radar camera to view thru walls to see What's up - Did a Demo for the founder of Qualcomm who had no clue his CDMA cell invention was the basis for Satellite Spy from Space. Cool cause I was a student of his when he taught a course in what we now call CDMA and that was in the 60's at MIT.
