somewhat, i am building original forum software from scratch just like the old days, all the big options are stuff where i would be the only person who could maintain it, because i'm the only one on the team that knows and likes PHP+MySQL, or stuff nobody could maintain because nobody knows and likes rails. and well. when it comes to forum software, under no circumstances do you have to hand it to kimmo, but gathering reference for all kinds of forum software helps to not overlook design ideas. and internal UIDs aren't a terrible idea. perhaps you could call it inspired by the beautiful art of illegal cloning.
